Competition authorities approves Smarter Airports A/S

With the approval from the competition authorities in place, the newly established Smarter Airports A/S can now continue to develop a new, market-leading digital platform for efficient and sustainable operation of the airports of the future.

Smarter Airports A/S was launched in October 2020 and is a joint venture owned by IT company Netcompany and Copenhagen Airports A/S (CPH). Now, the competition authorities have approved the company. This means, among other things, that the company will now start establishing partnerships with other airports around the world. At the same time, the platform has been named AIRHART.

“AIRHART will enable airports to respond to the accelerating pace of business changein the aviation industry. At the same time, the platform is an opportunity to utilize data to innovate the way we will operate an efficient and sustainable airport, both now and in the future. Therefore, the use and integration of data will be an essential part of the new platform,” says Christian Poulsen, COO & CIO, Head of Infrastructure, Operation & Services at CPH.

AIRHART – a tribute to Amelia Earhart
The platform has been named AIRHART as a tribute to Amelia Earhart, the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Earhart was a pioneer within aviation and AIRHART will be built on the same pioneering principles setting new standards for the entire airport industry.
